Fullhouse Lifestyle Store & Café @ Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, Kota Kinabalu

Dear Food lovers,

Fullhouse Lifestyle Store & Café is the current ‘BIG Hoohaa’ that most KK people have been mentioning about. Due to the fact this cafe have been franchised from West Malaysia – just like Sushi Tei, therefore patrons expect better service and quality food (if not adequate quality food would still be acceptable).

Referring to café’s website description. Fullhouse is all about…

” Home is where the heat is. And at Fullhouse that’s exactly what we want you to feel – at home. The moment you step into our lifestyle Store & Café, you will be swept away to a one-of-a-kind experience that goes beyond just filling your stomach.

Walls of warm white and a sweet mix of Victorial-esque décor welcome you as you enter, offering a homely ambiance that relaxes your senses. When you pick up our menu, you will be greeted by our quirky cartoon “family members” that accompany the pages of mouth-watering fusion delights. Once you have made your choice, signal to one of our friendly waiters and we’ll ensure you have an enjoyable dining experience.

From a hearty family meal to a cosy romantic dinner or just a relaxed get-together with friends, we have the perfect ambiance to suit your every need. And as you admire the décor, bear in mind that almost everything under the roof of Fullhouse is for sale – clothes, fashion accessories, gifts and decorative items. “

In other words Fullhouse is all about providing patrons a ‘HOME DINING’ experience and at the same time having a retail store within the café.

It would be pretty interesting if you ask me. Having a retail store within a café. Practically allows you to ramble around the café trying on accessories and clothes while waiting for food.

Today was my second visit to Fullhouse Lifestyle Store & Café. My first visit was a week ago, which was quite disappointing, nevertheless I gave it another try, allowing possible redemption by the café to prove that they needed slightly more time to familiarized their new working environment, menus, cooking procedures and definitely time for improvements from patron’s remarks.

This time, I have ordered ‘The Fullhouse Club Sandwich’ – chicken, turkey ham, egg mayo, cheese, lettuce tomato and cucumber. Pretty simple ingredients that makes the best sandwich. Definitely a top-notch sandwich if I could add several thin slices of fresh salmon and mashed avocado).

While my mate went with the Charbroiled New Zealand Rib-Eye Steak, lightly basted in their special sauce, served with mashed potato and fresh garden veggie. A much more experience waitress came back to our table minutes later asking how would my mate want his steak cooked. Mate:- Medium please.

My club sandwich was served along with a small salad dressing, deep-fried fries and a small serving of sweet chilli sauce. Presentation wise was good except that my ‘toasted’ club sandwich was cold… Nevertheless I tried imagining that it was still hot and manage to gobble all up as the food itself (ingredients and sauces) was pretty decent.

On the other hand, my mate complained about how his New Zealand Rib-Eye Steak was the most expensive dish available on the menu yet it tasted like an average piece of rubbery steak. As mentioned he ordered a medium cooked steak and it came out well done. The quality of this dish does not quite justify the price being charged.

Unquestionably, there are rooms for improvements as I am not giving up on them yet because I have YET to try the “Tony’s Teriyaki Chicken Burger” (looked utterly delicious). Twice I have asked for it and twice they have failed me. SOLD OUT apparently…

The remaining dishes I have tried on my first visit.
